This lodge was absolutely mind-blowing! The beautiful gardens and trees created a jaw-dropping oasis, perfect for bird-watching and enjoying a cooling G&T while watching hippos in the river. The staff were super friendly, accommodating, and went above and beyond. The location was incredible, with the river right in front of our room and stunning sunsets from the dinner terrace. Such a pleasant surprise! The breakfast was delicious and the free wi-fi was a bonus. Definitely recommend trying out the spa and wellness center for a relaxing massage. Can't wait to come back!

the lodge surpassed my expectations, with clean rooms, friendly staff, and stunning location by the river. It provided a relaxing and enjoyable experience, especially compared to other lodges in the area. The gardens, wildlife, and overall ambiance created a peaceful and inviting atmosphere that made me feel at home.
Bathroom tiles and bedding didn't give assurance on cleanliness.

The value at this lodge was exceptional, especially considering the reasonable rate. The private rooms were beautifully designed and the location right by the river was stunning. The staff were lovely and made me feel cared for during my stay.
Food for breakfast could have been better, with some dishes tasting a bit bland.

I enjoyed taking advantage of the stunning 180-degree view of the riverbanks, the spacious chalet interiors with their feature stone wall, and the widely acclaimed restaurant with its ever-changing menu. The traditional Mokoro Day Trip was a wonderful cultural activity.
Who needs air conditioning in 36 degrees? But hey, at least the foam mattresses radiated heat and made it even harder to sleep!

The decoration at this lodge is absolutely charming. The general areas are beautifully designed, with lovely African touches that make you feel like you're truly immersed in the culture. As a senior woman, I found the lodge to be very accessible. There were ramps and handrails throughout the property, making it easy for me to navigate around. The staff were also very helpful in assisting me whenever needed.
The only thing I would ask for a better vacation for senior people is for the children working there to be more attentive during meal times. There were a couple of instances where I had to wait longer than necessary for someone to take my order or bring my food.

I recently stayed at a lodge in a fantastic location, about an hour drive from a Mokoro station. The lodges were comfortable, clean, and provided a great base for traditional canoe rides through beautiful scenery. The dinner was delicious with a good range of options. The staff were lovely, accommodating, and made us feel at home. it was great value for money and I highly recommend this lodge for a tranquil and enjoyable stay.

I chose Thamalakane River Lodge specifically to explore the Delta waterways by boat. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the free WiFi throughout the property. It allowed me to stay connected and share my amazing experiences with friends and family. Additionally, I loved the option of having a la carte meals served on special request after a walk on one of the many islands.
Bedding not white, cleanliness concerns. Also, black tiles in the bathroom make it difficult to assess cleanliness.

I recently stayed at a lodge that completely exceeded my expectations. From the moment I arrived, I knew I had made the right choice. The lodge is situated in a perfect location, offering breathtaking views and endless activities. I had the opportunity to go on exciting safaris, take boat trips, indulge in delicious food, and relax by the beautiful swimming pool. The lodge truly caters to adventurers who also want some downtime. I highly recommend this lodge for anyone seeking an unforgettable adventure.

We had a fantastic stay at Thamalakane River Lodge. the location was absolutely amazing, right on the riverfront, allowing us to appreciate the beautiful nature without even leaving the lodge. the highlight was being able to watch the sunset from the dinner terrace and the sunrise from the river bank, which was truly breathtaking. the staff was incredibly welcoming and the breakfasts were delicious. we couldn't have asked for a better experience. We would definitely choose this lodge again if we had the chance. Cons: Almost perfect! 😊.
